KARPI manufactures and sells carpets and floor coverings, specializing in cutting carpets to custom sizes. The company specializes in producing carpets and have the expertise to turn leftover material to create additional products. As operations expanded across manufacturing, warehousing, and distribution, KARPI needed better coordination between inventory, production planning, and order processing.
R&D & Innovation
The project focused on improving how information moves between KARPI’s manufacturing and warehouse processes.
Sharing Data Between Systems
A system was developed to connect five internal portals so that inventory data, product information, and production planning details can be shared across systems.
Tracking Inventory and Carpet Locations
A system was developed to connect five internal portals so that inventory data, product information, and production planning details can be shared across systems.
Planning Production and Material Use
The platform also supports production planning, allowing teams to schedule bulk carpet cutting while making better use of leftover materials during manufacturing.
Technology Stack
To improve coordination between operations, a system was developed to connect KARPI’s production planning, inventory tracking, and warehouse management processes. The platform was built using .NET for backend services and Material UI for the frontend interface, providing a structured way to manage product information and warehouse locations. It also integrates with AFAS for financial operations, Lightspeed NL and Lightspeed Wholesale & DE for commerce management, Shopify for online sales, and TransUS for logistics coordination, allowing production data, inventory levels, and order information to move between systems so teams can monitor stock and plan manufacturing more effectively.
Operational Excellence
At the start of the project, the teams were provided with clear requirements for how inventory information, product data, and production planning should be managed across the system. These requirements helped guide the development, design, and testing teams as they worked on connecting the five internal portals.
AI supported the teams during development by assisting with coding, documentation, and code reviews. It helped developers review logic and structure how information moves between portals so inventory data, product specifications, and production planning details remain consistent.
Design teams focused on making the system clear for warehouse and production staff. Interfaces were reviewed so users can easily locate carpets, view product details, and check available materials.
Testing teams also reviewed the system to ensure that data remains accurate as it moves between portals. AI assistance helped them prepare test scenarios and identify issues during system checks.Throughout the project, teams worked closely together to ensure that the platform follows KARPI’s operational requirements
